In this collaboration with Being Design, we worked closely with the Small Things team to develop their visual identity. With several audiences to speak to, our work needed to be approachable and easy to understand. The result is a brand that represents how small things can make a big difference.

Amplify Philly is a 3-day event at South by Southwest. It brings the best of Philly’s diverse business, culture, and tech communities into the international spotlight. The goal is to attract the best talent, clients, and consumers to live, work, and play in Philadelphia. Since 2016, Amplify Philly has represented Philadelphia through exhibitions, concerts, panels, and other interactive activities.

A city represented through design

Avenue West has had the great pleasure of working on this project since its conception. For the past five years, the project has evolved from a small exhibition to a 3-day immersive experience dedicated to the city of Philadelphia. 

We sourced our color palette from the Philadelphia flag. This year’s theme was convergence. Diverse people, industries and ideas coming together to create the social and cultural tapestry of Philadelphia.

A visual refresh for an established organization

The Dairy Market Analyst is a well established resource for the dairy industry. They have thousands of followers due to their ability to provide valuable insight in their three page newsletter. Despite the company’s success, they wanted a visual refresh.

Our challenge was to design a new logo and brand system while maintaining the integrity of this long established organization. For inspiration, we looked to the logos of iconic publications like the New York Times, the LA Times, and the Atlantic. Here are the results.

Over the course of multiple discovery sessions we got to know Harvey. We created a design that reflects both his unique character and the rich work that he does.
